About Us

Cindy Milstein is an Institute for Anarchist Studies board member, co-organizer of the Renewing the Anarchist Tradition conference, and involved in Unconventional Action in the Bay. She taught at the anarchist summer school known as the Institute for Social Ecology, and has long been involved in anarchist projects, ranging from the Hope from People, Not Presidents initiative to Black Sheep Books collective. Her essays have appeared in numerous alternative periodicals and several anthologies: Realizing the Impossible: Art against Authority (AK Press, 2007), Globalize Liberation (City Lights, 2005), Confronting Capitalism (Soft Skull, 2005), and Only a Beginning (Arsenal Pulp, 2005). Cindy’s book Anarchism and Its Aspirations is forthcoming this March on AK Press.

Ian Paul is an artist, activist and writer currently living in San Francisco, CA. His work spans across multiple media and covers a variety of subject matter. Ian has been involved in a variety of social justice struggles over the last decade, including an active involvement in the anti-war movement, the environmental justice movement, and the anti-capitalist movement. Ian is also a founding member of the Friendly Fire Collective. He is currently pursuing his MFA and MA at San Francisco Art Institute.

David Zlutnick has spent the last several years involved in social justice movements and also has a strong history within independent media, both written and visual. He has worked with numerous independent print publications and his writings have been published in a variety of online media outlets. A founding member of Colectivo Media Insurgente, David worked to produce multiple films shown widely within the United States and internationally. He now lives in San Francisco working with the SF Tenants Union and the Eviction Defense Collaborative and has co-founded The Friendly Fire Collective. David produces documentary features and shorts through Upheaval Productions and is currently working on a forthcoming project focusing on Israeli militarism and resistance to it by Israeli and Palestinian organizers.
